My dog has a high maternal instinct and we recently got her a new plush toy with a squeaky inside. Now past toys she has had she played with walked around squeaking them played fetch with them so forth and so on. Now this new toy she coddles, doesn't squeak, and all around stays within five feet of it. We are removing the toy from her when we leave and making sure there are no maternal protective instincts with the toy, but I would really like her to be able to play with it when were not here. Is there anything I should pay attention to other than how she guards it, I make sure i can always take it from her without a fight, or is this perfectly fine. Any input would be great sources of reading even better couldn't find any online in the ten minutes I looked. She is spayed she has never had a litter of pups either and she is perfectly healthy to our current knowledge.... Read More »
